These Elytra Sternocera beetle wings from Thailand are turned into wearable art. The insects are farmed in accordance with the regulations of CITES (Convention of International Trade in Endangered Species). Many people eat beetles and other insects in Thailand as a good source of protein. I acquire the wings afterwards.
This listing is for the medium pair which is about 3.5" long. 16 wings are attached to jump rings and come on hypoallergenic hook earrings with earring backs.
Each wing has it's own unique color tone, but all have a brilliant natural metallic shine which reflects colors ranging from bright green to goldenrod yellow, deep cobalt blue, and even purple. When viewed in mass the wings take on a mesmerizing life of their own, the hues and colors delicately shift depending on the light.
The item will be shipped with the USPS and takes an average of 3 to 5 days to reach anywhere in the continental U.S. or 7 to 10 days for any international destination.
